The National Weather Service in Birmingham says that some of our listening audience, including parts of Tuscaloosa County, could receive severe weather on Presidents Day.

The forecast calls for rain throughout the day, but the biggest threat will come between 12PM and 7PM for West Alabama. The chances are low, but these storms could include tornadoes, strong winds, and hail.

There has already been one tornado warning issued in Mississippi this morning and that system is heading towards Alabama.

The severe threat will increase the further south you live, but everyone in the state needs to be aware of the possibilities on Monday afternoon.

As always, we will have live weather coverage on-air should tornadoes move into our listening area. You can listen to that on your mobile device using radioPup or by clicking here.
