The Alabama coaching staff recognized 10 players of the week on Monday after the Crimson Tide opened the 2016 season with a 52-6 win over Southern Cal.

The team shared the list of four offensive players, three defenders, and three special teams members.

Maybe the biggest surprise is seeing true freshman Jonah Williams earn the distinction in his first collegiate game. It's difficult enough to start and play well as a freshman on the offensive line, but the coaches thought highly enough about his performance to make him a player of the week.

Alabama returns to practice this week to prepare for a Western Kentucky team that rolled up 649 total yards of offense in a 46-14 win over Rice on Saturday.
