Remembering The Black Cowboys Of The Past

Reflecting back on my early Television watching as a youth, Westerns were my thing, especially a really good one. I just grew up always seeing a white guy handling his Business as a gunslinger or rescuing some woman in distress, or just simply riding out in the sunset.

Then a few years later I saw a movie that had predominately Black Cowboys, I watched with amazement as for the first time I saw that there were truly black Cowboys not just in real life but also in Movies.

Not Only are there Cowboys there's a Black Rodeo, and It's Back again for the third year at the Birmingham Legacy Arena. It's put on by the The Southeastern Rodeo Association. The show is absolutely Crazy with some of the best riders in the country, Bull Riding, Calf tie ups and can't forget those rodeo Clowns.

The Black Rodeo will be at the Legacy Arena Saturday June 25th and Tickets are on Sale now.
