- Local law enforcement will be working to ensure public safety this Thanksgiving holiday by working to better enforce seat belt laws. Over the same weekend in 2010, 337 passenger vehicle occupants were killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes nationwide, and 55% of those were unrestrained at the time of the crash.
