In light of the recent tragedy in Florida with the school shooting and people up in arms about 'gun control' a group of Missouri third-graders are selling raffle tickets for an AR-15 assault-style rifle to raise money for their baseball team. The raffle, which was launched before the mass shooting that killed 17 students at a Florida high school last week, offers the same type of weapon used in the attack. Now at first this sounds,well...crazy. I know that a lot of people want to exercise their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms. But, when looking at the issue closer you will find that guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Just to add this point, Guns have been around for centuries, so why is it that in the last 20-30 years we have had such a problem with mass shootings that result in the loss of life? The answer I believe is what and how our kids are being taught and the values of common decency and respect for life that kids now a days do not have.

When I was younger (30-40 yrs ago) people rode around with gun racks in the back window of trucks and I cannot remember ANY mass shootings in the 60's, 70's, or early 80's.

It's not so much about gun control but self control.
