Got the late-night munchies? You'll want to check out Steak 'n Shake's new '7x7' post-midnight seven-patty burger. The burger chain is joining the growing list of fast-food joints that have rolled out outrageous novelty sandwiches, many of which can be found in Japan. (Remember Burger King Japan's 15-strips-of-bacon Whopper? Or the lobster and caviar burger at Wendy's?) But Steak 'n Shake's latest menu addition can be found in the U.S.AThe 7x7 Steakburger stacks seven juicy, organic beef patties that alternate with seven slices of American cheese in between bun slices. Of course, the burger comes with a price tag, $7.77 — but that's not the only cost. Nutritionally, it's off the charts, weighing in at 1,330 calories and 98 grams of fat (add fries and you're looking at 1,570 calories and 109 grams of fat). If a towering burger isn't your bag, the new Late Night menu (available from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m.) also includes Specialty Shooters, a quartet of sliders: the classic All-American version topped with American cheese; Jalapeño Crunch; Guacamole; and Gorilla, which is grilled in mustard and topped with American cheese. There's also the Steakburger Slinger Skillet, a skillet full of hash browns topped with Steak 'n Shake's signature genuine chili, two steak burgers, shredded cheese, and two fried eggs. Nutritionally, however, it's not so far off from the 7x7, hitting a whopping 1,130 calories and 83 grams of fat.
