So I make everyday what's considered a decent drive everyday, Birmingham to Tuscaloosa. Along the way I can count on stopping about 3 -4 times due to construction. Don't get me wrong the construction is for better flow of traffic and over all to make the roads safe.

But at what cost, and where does the money come from? The Government or state doesn't always have the funds, have you ever looked at the signs right before you enter a construction zone? Most times they will have listed what's the cost of the project, in some cases in runs into the hundreds of Millions of dollar. Imagine doing bridge repair on a half mile span. Or resurfacing Mc farland from 20 /59 to 15th street. I could cost a whole lot of money.

That's why a Legislator Chris England want's to do just that He wants to divert some Tax monies and increase the gas Tax by 6 cents to help get the needed funds to repair roads. Chris says our entire infrastructure is a complete mess and sooner or later it's going to fall apart.

Raising the gas tax will be of concern to some, there hasn't been a gas tax hike in some time now and most person's don't understand the politic behind it. In the end it's the only way roads in Central Alabama or around the state will ever get repaired
