Alabama Athletes React to the Death of Swimmer John Servati

Tragic news coming out of last night’s severe weather in Tuscaloosa as John Servati, a junior on the Crimson Tide swim team, has died. Servati was injured trying to save his girlfriend from a falling wall in the basement of his residence on 22nd Ave.  He was taken to DCH where he was later pronounced dead.  Servati came to Alabama from Tupelo, MS, a town that was also hit hard by yesterday’s storm system.

Many Bama students and faculty took to Twitter to express their grief:

We at Tide 99.1 would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Joh Servati, the Alabama swimming and diving team, and the University student body as a whole.
