The list of celebrities joining the Snapchat train just keeps growing and it looks like Alicia Keys is the latest artist to jump on the popular messaging app.

Excited to use the platform to talk about life and promote upcoming projects, the R&B mom has officially announced that a wave of new music is on the way.

The "Empire State of Mind" singer went on Snapchat this past Saturday (April 16) to let fans know her four-year musical hiatus is coming to an end. Not only did she let audiences know the wait is over, but she let them know she'll be performing her new music in a few weeks on the May 7 episode of Saturday Night Live.

"What's going on Snap Chat world? So I've been dying to share some news with you for a while. You've been asking and asking and it's finally real. That's right, I have new music to share with you and I'm going to be performing in the next couple of weeks. Oh my, God!"

Excited for her SNL performance, Keys continued celebrating the news on Snap. "That's right, I'll be performing my new music in my city - my hometown city - the best city in the world to me...on an iconic New York stage."

Keys' untitled upcoming project will be her first since her 2012 LP, Girl on Fire. She is currently in the studio working with Pharrell and her hubby, Swizz Beatz.
