Alabama's record-setting wide receiver has added another honor to his growing list of accomplishments. On Monday, the Associated Press named Amari Cooper the SEC Offensive Player of the Year.

This marks the first time the award has been given to a wide receiver since 1987.

The vote came as no surprise to anyone that's watched college football this season. Cooper surpassed practically every school record at Alabama on his way to the SEC Championship Game last weekend, where he proceeded to claim two more records. The junior caught an title game-record 12 passes for 83 yards in the 42-13 win over Missouri. That pushed his season receptions total to 115, which makes it the greatest season in conference history.

In 2014 alone, Cooper racked up 1,656 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. He had three games with more than 200 yards receiving (Florida, Tennessee, and Auburn) and hauled in at least eight catches in all but two games (Arkansas and Western Carolina).

Very few people would argue that Cooper isn't the best receiver in the nation. He led the nation in receptions and receiving yards while finishing second in touchdowns and receiving yards per game. The Miami-native is expected to be invited to New York City for the Heisman Trophy Ceremony.
