The AP is reporting an Amtrak train traveling from Philadelphia to New York has crashed and initial estimates say 50+ are injured.

The train identified as Northwest Regional Train 188 left Washington, D.C. earlier today.

An Associated Press employee, Paul Cheung, was traveling on the train and suggested it had gone off the tracks. He said he was sitting at the back of the train but the wreckage located in the front "looks pretty bad." The front of the train was also said to have shook when entering a turn which suggests the moment of derailment. Other unconfirmed reports claim the Amtrak train may have hit a freight car.

WTXF is reporting several passenger cars are overturned. An estimated 240 passengers were on board and witness say several people were seen 'flying through the air'. An official speaking to Fox News called for all personal and first responders to respond to the scene, calling it an 'all hands on deck' situation.

Former Congressman Patrick Murphy who was also on the train has been offering assistance and tweeting photos of firefighters helping people involved in wreck.
