A few weeks ago, I was leaving an apartment complex, when a man standing in the road flagged me down. Beside him was a woman sitting on the tail of a golf cart. What could they possibly want?

Apprehensively, I stopped. Basically, as a courtesy to residents (they didn't know if I lived there or not), they were passing out free breakfasts. They had all kinds of muffins, juices, and fruit.

I opted for a blueberry muffin (my favorite next to the orange cranberry muffin at Panera) and a cup of apple juice. Far from a healthy breakfast, but these folks almost made me wanna sell my house and move to one of their apartments.

Thanks, Carroll Management Company. If THAT'S how you treat your residents, you'll have no problem retaining them. Everybody appreciates a small gesture to show they're valued.
