As a Race Are We Better Off Now?

The ‘Question’ is one I have asked and been asked but the answer escapes me. Before all the progress made in the mid-60′s the black community was a self sufficient one.There were black businesses for any and everything a black person could want or ask for. But that wasnt the way things would go. There was intergration meant to allow people of all races to enjoy the liberties that until then were only for a select few. Better education, better living conditions, an overall better way of life. With all that has transpired over the past 4-5 decades,the question still remains and the answer is of course we have. We have achieved much(the first black president) but there is still so much more to achieve. So it is up to us(those that are old enough) to teach our youth so we can continue to move forward in this world. So the answer to the question is…..Yes and No……
