Who is the top teen star on Twitter? It’s Justin Bieber, by a landslide. Like it’s not even close. The Biebs, 18, has a whopping 27 million followers, making him one of the most followed people in the world and easily the most followed teen and teen heartthrob. Of course he is nipping at Lady Gaga‘s 140-character crown, but he has nearly double the follows of his closest teen Twitter foe, who just so happens to be his girlfriend Selena Gomez!
Another magazine cover and another hair color for Katy Perry. The style chameleon appears on the cover of French fashion rag L’Officiel Levant with thick, frizzy, red hair. Katy’s a ginger kid! It’s a muted and understated look for Perry, which is not something we’re used to seeing from her.
History could repeat itself this October in Los Angeles. According to the “official” MDNA tour Twitter account, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, both of whom made out with Madonna onstage at the 2003 MTV VMAs, may be appearing onstage with the Material Girl.
Another day, another snippet of information or a visual from Christina Aguilera‘s upcoming “comeback” album. Remember, ‘Bionic’ bombed back in 2010, but since then, Xtina has established herself as a force to be reckoned with via ‘The Voice.’ Now it’s prime time for her to get back to doing what she does best and that’s be a pop star.
This sounds a bit like desperation, but word is that the powers-that-be at ‘American Idol‘ offered pop diva Katy Perry a whopping $20 million to join the show as a judge. Whoa. That’s $2 million more than top diva Mariah Carey got to board the judge’s panel, and she brings more history and star power. What gives?
A new, minute-long ‘X Factor‘ promo has landed, featuring new judge Britney Spears gushing about a contestant. If you pay attention, you’ll notice that it’s set to ‘Don’t Fail Me Now,’ the new single from Season 1 winner Melanie Amaro. The song factors prominently in the spot, paired with the uplifting, dream-come-true footage of the judges complimenting and pushing through the top tier of talent during the audition phases.
We’ll give her credit for looking like she is being the bigger person, as Madonna extended the olive branch to nemesis Elton John. During a concert in France, Madge dedicated her song ‘Masterpiece’ to the singer with whom she has been feuding. But her gesture came with a little bit of a backhand. Come on, you didn’t think Madge would be all warm and fuzzy, did you?
Gwen Stefani has made no secret of the fact that while she had fun being a ‘Hollaback Girl’ and releasing two successful solo albums while No Doubt were on an extended break, she didn’t prefer being without her boys in her band. She’s gone on record to say that her solo career will remain in the rear view, and now, she’s compared that period of her professional life to playing a role and pretending.
- Score one for Kanye West. Yeezy has won the lawsuit pertaining to his 2007 jam ‘Stronger.’ Rapper Vince P sued West, claiming he played a version of the song to one of Ye’s business associates and the rapper then stole it. The judge noted that West did have the chance to copy the song, but the versions are not similar enough to prove it. Case dismissed.
