I was born in Chicago, IL but moved to rural Aliceville, AL before fate landed me in the City of Champions. I can be heard during the midday, sometimes speaking with eloquence and professionalism. But every now and then, I have to "bring it on home," and you'd swear you were talking to a cousin or good friend. I have no problem making fun of myself, giving compliments, or saying what most people are thinking. That's just me!

Trying Not to Be “That Mom?”

One of my biggest parenting fears is having a child that's ashamed of me. Right now, my daughter absolutely loves everything about me and has told potential suitors, "You can't have my mommy." (We had to have a talk about that one!) And I know there's going to come a day when she won't want me around; she's already pretty independent. I'm ok with that. I just don't want to be "that mom."
