A 14-month-old girl in Philadelphia went on one wild ride before she ever had a chance to get on the train.

The girl was in her stroller on a subway platform when she rolled onto the tracks.

An official with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority explained what happened:

What it looks like to us is that the mother became distracted by something, didn't apply the brake on the stroller and the stroller was able to move off the platform and onto the tracks.”

The mother and others in the vicinity jumped onto the tracks to help save the baby, while police ordered an oncoming train to stop. The baby was brought to a hospital for a cut on her forehead.

It should also be noted that the item that jumps out of the stroller once it hit the tracks is either a towel or a bag – not the baby.
