Before you eat your morning sausage, check the package. Thirty-eight thousand pounds of pork sausage have been recalled by the Smithfield Packing Co. due to possible pieces of plastic in the product.

The tainted product, Gwaltney mild pork sausage roll, may contain particles of plastic gloves in the meat.The sausage was produced on January 11 and distributed to 11 states — Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas — and the District of Columbia.
