Beanie Sigel finally left the hospital on Monday (Jan. 5), after spending the past few weeks getting treatment for a gunshot wound he received during an incident near a New Jersey home last month. Now he's on the mend since one of his lungs was removed.

TMZ reports that Sigel's lung was taken out while undergoing surgery. Doctors couldn't save the organ because of the damage it sustained from the bullet fragments. While the shooter is still on the loose, Sigel will spend the next 90 days at Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation in Pomona, N.J. to learn how to function with one lung.

On Dec. 5, the MC, born Dwight grant, was shot in the torso during a physical altercation in Pleasantville, N.J., after he dropped his kids off at school. The former Roc-A-Fella rhymer, who wasn't the intended target, was reported in critical condition as he was being treated for his wounds.

Apparently authorities do not have a suspect or leads in the case and family members are not cooperating. "The detectives have brought a lot of people in for questioning, but unfortunately no one's talking," said Rocky Melendez, Pleasantville Police Capt.

Sigel, 40, was released from prison in August 2014, just a few months before the shooting. The Philadelphia native spent two years behind bars for tax evasion.
