BEWARE! 3 West Nile Virus cases confirmed in Jefferson County!

Ok, this one right here is too close to home!!

The Jefferson County Department of Health has identified three residents who have tested positive for the West Nile Virus disease.

What is the West Nile Virus:

It's a flavivirus of African origin that can be spread to humans and other mammals via mosquitoes, causing encephalitis and flulike symptoms, with some fatalities.

Beware of still standing water and make sure you have bug repellent for the babies...and you!
