Beyonce is a talented artist overall, but she's not really a songwriter. In fact, she's known to share the credit for work done by those that actually pen the tracks.

During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, 4 Non Blondes frontwoman Linda Perry expressed her opinion about Beyonce's "songwriting" skills. Perry has written big hits for many of the music industry's darlings including Alicia Keys ('Superwoman') and Christina Aguilera ('Beautiful').

A laugh is worth more than words here. The question posed by a Reddit user to Perry produced an interesting response:

Linda, how do you feel about Beyonce changing one word on a song and getting writing credit. Does that bother you as a songwriter?

well hahaha um thats not songwriting but some of these artists believe if it wasnt for them your song would never get out there so they take a cut just because they are who they are. but everyone knows the real truth even Beyonce. She is talented but in a completely different way

Queen B has often spoken about her songwriting process, which usually starts with a small idea in her head. She has admitted to working with others to help her refine that idea.

"I used to start with lyrics and then I'd find tracks," she told GQ magazine last year. "Often it was something I had in my head, and it just so happened to go with the melody. Now I write with other writers. It starts with the title or the concept of what I'm trying to say, and then I'll go into the booth and sing my idea. Then we work together to layer on."
