Bacon Brew & Quepresented by New Belgium Brewing, is pleased to announce that Birmingham's own Steel City Jug Slammers will be taking the stage during this year's festival hosted by Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa and the Young Professionals of Tuscaloosa

The band is set to play at the conclusion of the main craft beer and bacon festival; their set is slated for 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 8.

Steel City Jug Slammers have become known for their unique performances, combining old-timey jug band tunes with Delta blues for a sound that you'd swear you've heard before in a past life. Unlike many of today's Americana/Folk acts who claim to play jug band music, Steel City Jug Slammers actually play a jug--along with several other instruments they've created themselves.

They've played NPR's Prairie Home Companion (see the video above) and were also featured artists at last year's Kentuck Music and Arts Festival.

Steel City Jug Slammers is comprised of Jerrod Atkins, Zac Peoples, Nicholas Bate, Stephen Bate, Jacob Matthews, and Cory Medders.

This year's Bacon Brew & Que spans two days--Friday, October 7, and Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Munny Sokol Park Horse Arena. A special pre-party event will be held Friday evening, giving attendees a chance to hear more live music and meet the team's participating in the Kansas City-sanctioned BBQ competition.

The main craft beer festival will be held Saturday. BBQ teams will be grilling most of the morning in preparation for the competition, but gates will open for VIPs at 1 p.m. General Admission attendees will be allowed into the festival at 2:30 p.m.

You'll have the chance to sample an incredible lineup of craft beers from across Alabama and the U.S. and delicious bacon dishes from Tuscaloosa and West Alabama. Tickets for Bacon Brew & Que, presented by New Belgium Brewing, are available now.
