According to a Tuscaloosa Police Department press release the Tuscaloosa Police Department has requested the Office of City Attorney dismiss all charges filed against Cyrus Jones. The Alabama cornerback was charged with two counts of third-degree domestic violence on April 28, 2015.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department stated, although sufficient probable cause existed for both offenses the dismissal is based on the fact that Mr. Jones in attempted to deescalate the situation by contacting the Tuscaloosa Police Department.  After reviewing the case with the Office of City Attorney, they agreed with the recommendation of dismissal of the charges against the Alabama cornerback.

Cyrus Jones was the fifth Alabama player since January to be arrested on domestic violence charges this year.
