Fans at the SIAC men's basketball tournament got a bonus halftime performance on Tuesday when cheerleaders from Tuskegee and Albany State began fighting on the court.

The incident happened during the first round game in Birmingham, where Tuskegee won 80-63.

Both cheerleading teams were sent home after the fight and the conference said it is investigating the incident.

The SIAC released this statement:

"The obligation to observe basic principles of sportsmanship and fair play extends to all participants at the SIAC basketball tournament. As a consequence of the incident on Tuesday, the cheerleading and dance teams from both Albany State University and Tuskegee University will not be permitted to participate in our tournament for the remainder of the week."

Tuskegee plays again Thursday against Morehouse in the quarterfinals.
