What really happened here? A woman from Chicago drove to Texas to start her new job and her new life on July 9. She was arrested 3 days later for “assault of a public servant” during a routine traffic stop in Waller County.  Police found her dead in her jail cell on July 13.

Sandra Bland was 28 years old at the time of her death. Her death was classified as a suicide. The cause of death is listed as a homicide of self-inflicted asphyxiation according to what Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences in Houston spokeswoman told the Chicago Tribune.

Her friends and family aren’t convinced it’s a suicide.
