After frightening children and getting complaints from his neighbors, Chris Brown finally decided to paint over those monsters he graffitied onto the gates of his home.

But he wants you to know it was his decision and his decision alone and it had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the city of Los Angeles was probably going to make him cover them up anyway.

The city said if the graffiti was removed in time, Brown wouldn't be fined for essentially trashing up his ritzy 'hood. Which was a good enough reason, but Chris is still saying he only did it because he wanted to. Or maybe the cries of the children throughout the night were just too much.

Regardless, on July 11, the "art" was painted over at Brown's behest. But now it just looks like a badly-painted concrete wall.
