Chris Rock is among several celebrities who are showing their support for Colin Kaepernick who still has not been picked up by an NFL team.

On Saturday (Sept. 16), the comedian went on his Instagram account to asked the obvious question -- how come the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is not playing in the NFL? Rock even name checked a few struggling football teams who desperately need a good quarterback to help them out. His conclusion: the NFL doesn't want Kaepernick to play.

Rock feels it's time for team owners to give Kaepernick an opportunity to play in the NFL.

"Most athletes are decent people but there's also a lot of bad guys that have been made worse buy getting special treatment their whole lives," he writes. "I've met Colin a few times and I don't think he's one of the bad ones. Btw I understand anybody that doesn't agree with him that's your right I get it. But you have to admit that in the world of sports where we give actual criminals a fifteenth chance this [guy] shouldn't be denied the right to ever play again."

Rock isn't the only one with this same position. Snoop Dogg and Earvin "Magic" Johnson also expressed their support for the embattled athlete. Recently, Christopher Reid (aka Kid from Kid 'N Play) wrote that he was in support of Kaepernick.

Finally, JAY-Z voiced his support for Kaepernick at the 2017 Meadows Music and Arts Festival on Friday night (Sept. 15). He dedicated "Story of O.J." to Kaepernick and Dick Gregory, two activists who have made it their life’s work to shine a spotlight on social issues facing black America.

“I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight,” Hov said before performing the song. “I want to dedicate this [song] to Dick Gregory. I want to dedicate this song to anyone that was held back and you overcame.”
