Area businesses and schools have announced delays as we anticipate some arctic cold air and a good chance of some precipitation that could make for hazardous commuting Monday and Tuesday.

We'll update all delays and closings as we get them and announce them on air. If you have some information you'd like us to share, submissions can be made here.

University of Alabama
The following statement was released at 4:00 pm on Sunday:

"The University of Alabama will open as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 6.   Employees should monitor weather conditions along their travel routes and notify their supervisors if they are not able to travel to work safely.

UA currently plans to start classes as scheduled on Wednesday, Jan. 8.  Faculty will work with students who experience travel delays because of the severe weather.

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Policy Group will continue to monitor weather conditions. Employees and students are encouraged to stay alert to changing weather conditions.

Tuscaloosa City Schools
Monday, January 6th- two hour delay
Tuesday, January 7th-two hour delay
Students traveling to school by bus will be picked up two hours later than the normal scheduled-pick up time and employees should report to work two hours later than scheduled as well.

Pickens Academy
Monday, January 6th-CLOSED
Tuesday, January 7th-employees report at 9:15 and students should report at 10:00 am.
