The last time Darius Rucker played the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, concertgoers dealt with delays and a torrential downpour! Well, keep your fingers crossed for perfect weather when he comes back to Tuscaloosa in June! This time around he'll bring special guests Dan + Shay and Michael Ray with him.
Darius Rucker first attained multi-platinum status in the music industry as former lead singer and rhythm guitarist of GRAMMY award-winning Hootie & the Blowfish. Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, he has released four consecutive albums to top the Billboard Country albums chart and earned a whole new legion of fans.
Rucker’s first two country albums, Learn To Live and Charleston, SC 1966 produced five No. 1 singles including “Come Back Song,” “This,” “Alright,” “It Won’t Be Like This For Long” and "Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It” and earned him the New Artist award from the Country Music Association.
Critically acclaimed duo Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) hit No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums Chart with their first album Where It All Began, which was released in 2014. They quickly racked up more than 25 million YouTube views, they are the only new country duo in SoundScan recorded history to debut at No. 1.
Newcomer Michael Ray is no stranger to the charts either, his first single "Kiss You in the Morning" reached #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles charts nor is he a stranger to Tuscaloosa, having played Gallette's in late 2015.
