To suddenly and unexpectedly lose a loved one is hard for anyone, but for a teen to lose both parents has to be devastating, especially when both are lost at once. However, Sarah Perry, the daughter of Mike and Kim Perry (two of those killed in the Tuscaloosa plane crash Sunday), is showing amazing strength in the days following her parents' demise.

In a post on her Facebook page, Sarah expresses her sadness but also her gratitude for her family and support system, her plans to help her younger siblings, and her expectation of seeing her parents again.

It's often easy to hold anger, sadness, and resentment following the death of a loved one, and we've all heard that funerals aren't for the deceased but rather for the survivors. While expressions of what a person meant to others are nice to hear, memories of things he or she may have done are often comforting as shared memories and stories are everlasting.

Undoubtedly, the loss of six residents at once has left a mark on the Oxford, Miss. community, as from an outsider's point of view, at least two (and probably all since birds of a feather....) were wonderful people, made evident by the strength and courage displayed by their teen daughter.
