It's clear R. Kelly wasn't happy with Dave Chappelle following the infamous 2003 "Piss on You" sketch on Chappelle's Show and stepped to him to let him know, according to Dave himself during a standup routine at the Hollywood Improv Comedy Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (Jan. 16).

“The week that sketch came out, we were in Chicago at a Common show and his goons busted in my room," Dave told the crowd during his set, captured by TMZ. "I don’t know if it was his goons, but they sure did like him. [R. Kelly said to me], ‘How you gonna do that video with me peeing on a bitch like that?’ And I said, ‘How you gonna make a video like that?’ My mind’s telling me no. But you know what? My body’s telling me yes.”

This confirms the story that Chapelle's Show co-writer Neal Brennan told during his appearance on The Breakfast Club earlier this week.

“R. Kelly wanted to fight Dave,” Brennan told the hosts about the confrontation with "I Admit" singer. “He literally… his goons stepped to Dave in Chicago and Dave’s goons intervened. The goons negotiated.”

The controversial singer is currently under criminal investigation in Georgia, with the city of Chicago looking into the allegations as well, following the resurfaced sexual abuse allegations from the airing of Surviving R. Kelly.
