Desiigner is a free man following his arrest on drugs and weapons charges stemming from a road rage incident in New York on Thursday (Sept. 8). The Brooklyn rhymer was released without bail on Saturday (Sept. 10) after his arraignment.

According to New York Daily News, Desiigner appeared in front of a judge to address an incident in which he’s accused of brandishing a gun. On Thursday, the 19-year-old rapper was in the backseat of a Cadillac Escalade when he got into an argument with a driver in another car. The man in the other vehicle called 911 and accused Desiigner of allegedly waved a gun at him.

Police subsequently stopped Desiigner's car and arrested the rapper and his three friends in the vehicle. Cops also searched the car and found a “large quantity of loose pills” including OxyContin, methadone and illegal steroids.

At his arraignment, Desiigner's attorney, Adam Konta, told the judge the accusations of weapons and illegal drugs found in the car were bogus. “There’s nothing here. There’s nothing recovered, he said. “There really is nothing here.”

Konta also maintained that whoever placed the 911 call was incorrect and no gun was involved in the incident. As for the steroids found in the vehicle, the rapper's attorney told the judge it belonged to the chauffeur who's also a bodyguard for Desiigner. Konta also produced prescriptions for the "loose pills" that were also discovered in the car.

Prosecutors dropped the charges of felony possession of a loaded gun and felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. However, prosecutors are sticking with the charges of felony possession of a controlled substance and menacing against the 19-year-old rapper.

Outside of the courthouse, Desiigner didn't seem bother by the charges levied against him. “They tried to keep me in but when you're doing right they can't,” he told the media.

The "Panda" rapper then climbed into a waiting BMW and drove away.

Hopefully, Desiigner will count his blessings and stay out of trouble. His rap career is just getting started and he doesn't want it derailed by a prison sentence. Just ask Bobby Shmurda.
