The Lions agreed to terms with second-round draft pick A'Shawn Robinson, and the rookie from Alabama is set to earn more than $5 million for his first contract.

The 46th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft signed a deal that's worth more than $5.23 million over four years, which includes a signing bonus of just over $2 million. He'll make a base salary of $450,000 for his first season and that will increase up to $1.16 million for the 2019 season.

Robinson was the third of five former Crimson Tide players taken during the second round. He's already began working with Detroit and said he's excited about playing in the Lions' defensive scheme.

"I love it," he said. "Honestly, I think it's a great defense for me to be in. To come from two-gapping, and having the opportunity to attack, it's amazing. I know that changing my stance and really just coming off the ball and explode off on offensive linemen is going to be cool."

Detroit held its rookie minicamp last weekend and OTAs will begin on May 24.
