Two weeks ago Cheddars scratch Kitchen expectantly closed their doors to the public, whats crazy is that when I started working here I thought it was one of the nicer restaurants on Skyland. But Now it's closed and about 30 of it's employees are left with no job, Servers, Managers, Cooks and Busboys.

There was a Job fair for those displaced Friday the 30th in the Cheddars parking lot, but if you didn't make that you could still sign up at There will also be offsite hospitality and food service employers who will be available for interviews on that day as well. Those interested in interviewing should register in the Career Connect system first at the site, and then if qualified, will be directed to the offsite interview location.

“West Alabama Works and our partners are committed to those impacted by layoffs in our region,” said Donny Jones, COO for the Chamber of Commerce. “We want those affected by the closing to know that their community stands with them and we will do everything possible to make sure they are employed as soon as possible.”
