Football fans who were watching the BCS National Championship game recognize Auburn's Tre Mason as the son of De La Soul's DJ Maseo. He obviously doesn't have to worry about following in his father's footsteps because not only is he a running back, he excels in his position. Mason will skip his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

He'll undoubtedly find a team in the NFL after his excellent performance during the National Championship. Mason ran for a whopping 195 yards and punched in Auburn's final touchdown with less than two minutes left to give his team the lead. Florida State came back in the short time they had had left and beat Maseo's former team, 34-31.

Maseo tweeted support for his son despite the disappointing outcome.

He also retweeted the initial reports from ESPN, AP and many other Twitter accounts congratulating his son, which also shows his support. Mason also led the Southeastern Conference in rushing yards last season.
