Drake has been slapped with a lawsuit by Chris Brown‘s bodyguard, who claims he was left severely injured during a New York nightclub brawl the rapper was involved in last June.

According to the New York Daily News, Patrick “Big Pat” Strickland filed a lawsuit Monday (April 8) in Manhattan Supreme Court blaming the Young Money superstar, as well as the owners of W.i.P. nightclub, for injuries he suffered during Drake and Brown’s infamous champagne-throwing melee.

In the suit, Strickland calls Drizzy a “popular and successful, albeit critically derided, entertainer” who allegedly had a waitress give Brown a note that read: “I’m f—ing the love of your life.” That message incited a verbal altercation between Drake and Brown, which led to champagne bottles being thrown and a “general state of riot and disorder” to occur.

Strickland, who was guarding Brown that night, was subsequently hit in the head with a bottle, which left him “disfigured to his face, head and eyes.”

The 42-year-old bodyguard also blames the nightclub for seating Drake’s party so close to Brown’s table. “The seating arrangement created a substantial and unjustifiable risk that a mass altercation would occur between the two camps,” the suit states.

Strickland’s lawsuit adds to a string of legal actions related to Drake and Brown’s nightclub brawl. NBA basketball player Tony Parker, a male model and the W.i.P. nightclub owners, themselves, have all filed lawsuits.

Drake’s attorney was unavailable for comment regarding Strickland’s lawsuit.
