Tuesday, September 15 at 8pm, Epiphany will host a Farm-to-Table Dinner benefitting the local water protection efforts of Black Warrior Riverkeeper and the Friends of Hurricane Creek. Tuscaloosa’s “farm-to-fork” restaurant since 2003, Epiphany (519 Greensboro Ave) will take reservations for the dinner at 205-344-5583 after 4pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Epiphany will serve a $39 Tapas Style meal with meat, vegetables and other delicious products of farms on or near the Black Warrior River including B & S Farms, Druid City Garden Project, Katie Farms, and Snows Bend Farm.  Locally brewed beers by Druid City Brewing Company will also be available for purchase. Those beers’ main ingredient is water from Lake Tuscaloosa, the drinking water source for greater Tuscaloosa and a reservoir on the North River, a major tributary of the Black Warrior River.

Black Warrior Riverkeeper and the Friends of Hurricane Creek are both members of Waterkeeper Alliance, a global movement of on-the-water advocates.  The non-governmental groups keep water clean for swimming, drinking, fishing, brewing, and farming by educating the public and holding polluters accountable.  Both local Waterkeepers’ framed photographs of nearby waterways will be displayed for sale at the dinner.

“Like-minded organizations must work together to facilitate positive change and appreciation of the natural wonders around us,” said John Wathen, Hurricane Creekkeeper for the Friends of Hurricane Creek.  “We are so grateful that Black Warrior Riverkeeper joins us in patrolling and advocating for the health and well being of Hurricane Creek as well as the entire Black Warrior River basin.”
