Events by Eventful“Celebrate Tuscaloosa’s Golden Age (1850-1910)”– Presented by the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society
If you've seen Meet Me in St Louis you'll want to Meet Your Friends in Tuscaloosa from April 26 to 28. Homes, area structures, the music and dress that transformed Tuscaloosa during the years from 1890 to 1910 will be on display. On Friday evening, guests will have an opportunity to visit period homes in Pinehurst, Tuscaloosa's first incorporated neighborhood, and listen to the stories as well as the popular songs of the era! Tours and visits to numerous structures including businesses and churches will be offered on Saturday. Additionally, on Saturday, displays appropriate to the turn of the century will be presented at the Bryant Museum, the Transportation Museum and the Murphy-Collins Museum. The Battle-Friedman Home will display original clothing from the turn of the century in rooms decorated to reflect the era. Saturday and Sunday a Silver Display and Sale will be offered at the Jemison -Van de Graaff Mansion.
