Fantasia is ready to drop some new music in 2013. In an interview with Steve Harvey, the former 'American Idol' star announced that her fourth album will be titled 'The Side Effects of You.'

She describes the music on the collection as rock-soul, an amalgam of Tina Turner and James Brown. "It's my baby because I finally got to write," she says. "I just wanted so bad to always do something like that and I thank the record company, RCA, for allowing me to do that on this album."

The 'Free Yourself' singer worked with only one producer on the project to maintain a cohesive balance with the music. "My whole album I wrote with one guy out of London, his name is Harmony," Fantasia shares. "I didn't want to flip-flop and be everywhere because a lot of times, with my other albums, I've worked with different producers, great producers, but this time I just wanted to stick with one person so that we can just have an album that has one sound and everybody is on the same page."

The set's first single is 'Lose to Win,' which samples the Commodores' 1985 hit 'Night Shift.' Fantasia says she felt a special bond with the song as it relates to her own life. "For me, it just wasn’t about a relationship, it was about my whole career," she explains. "It's been 10 years for me and there’s been ups, there’s been downs, there's been people to walk away, so the message was strong for me and I just had to record it."

Fantasia's new album, 'The Side Effects of You,' will arrive in stores March 13.
