FEMA Public Assistance Approved for City of Tuscaloosa
The City of Tuscaloosa has been approved for Federal Emergency Management Agency public assistance following the severe storms April 28 through May 5.
This disaster declaration will allow for reimbursements across seven categories including debris removal, emergency protective measures, roads and bridges, water control facilities, building and equipment, utilities and parks, recreational facilities and other items.
The City of Tuscaloosa spent an estimated $2 million in response to the severe weather event to date, and debris removal and infrastructure damage repair remains ongoing.
Residents can also visit FEMA's Disaster Recovery Center at the McAbee Activity Center, located at 3801 Loop Road, Wednesday, May 14 from noon to 6 p.m. Regular hours will be Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
