FINALLY! Another Male Enters the Family!

I have a brand new nephew! My family (especially his sister) couldn't be more excited.

Those familiar with my family are aware that we are full of girls. For the last 12 years, I've had only one nephew.

I have a daughter, my older brother has three girls, my younger brother (father of the son) was the first of us to have a daughter, and my youngest brother has a daughter. He and his girlfriend added another boy to the family yesterday!

I got the word that her water had broken yesterday morning, and I could hardly wait to get off work and meet my nephew. Initially, I didn't want to hold him because I didn't want to start missing that feeling, but I eventually gave in. What kinda aunt would I be if I didn't?

Oddly, on my dad's side, my sister and I are the only girls. We have three brothers. Our dad's brother had a daughter who passed years ago and two sons.  His younger sister has four sons, and his baby sister has a son. So, they were all excited about the string of girls whereas we are happy about the boys.

Truth of the matter is whether it's a girl or boy, an addition to the family is always reason to rejoice.  Simply one more to love!
