On Saturday, the University of Alabama will make history (again!) by hosting the first ever World Marrow Donor Day.

The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is an international bone marrow registry that has helped facilitate more than 2,900 transplants. They'll celebrate the first ever ‘World Marrow Donor Day’ on September 19th by having Campus Ambassadors run bone marrow swab/recruitment drives on their respective campuses in all 50 states.

Gift of Life’s Campus Ambassador Program (CAP), which includes 105 college students from all 50 states, from Harvard to the University of Hawaii, will swab the inside of thousands of student’s mouths with a cotton swab during this national bone marrow drive.

Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation Student Ambassador, Abbey Lewis, will run a bone marrow drive in Tuscaloosa this Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. on the Quad.

Bone marrow drives will be held in all 50 states and the District of Columbia Saturday as part of World Marrow Donor Day to save lives across America.

Feel free to reach out to Abbey Lewis at 334-355-1408 for information on the specific location for the drive.
