When a person in authority breaks the law, it's somewhat comforting to know that the justice system hasn't completely fallen apart. The fact that someone who breaks the law should know better doesn't really cut it.

A former Tuscaloosa bail bondsman was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted murder.

It was a case of the defendant claiming self-defense.

What makes it so odd is that he shot the guy in the back.

How is it self-defense if you shoot someone in the back?

Sounds fishy to me, and it sounded fishy to the jury and judge as well, that's why he got the sentence he got.
