Things have been relatively quiet for Frank Ocean since exploding on to the scene with his 2012 release 'Channel Orange.' After sharing an Instagram photo of himself working in the studio earlier this year, there hasn't been any updates on his new material, until now.

The Odd Future member dropped a snippet of a new song called 'Memrise,' which showcases the singer's penchant for left-of-center-sounds.

The track starts of with an off-beat drum pattern, as Ocean's airy vocals float in and out. Meanwhile, a keyboard sound is incorporated with heavy reverb and is followed by a sort of rap delivery, where the New Orleans native asks if he can come pay his mate a visit.

"I'm memorizing wayward expressions, never look down, never let you see me down / I memorized your body exposed, I could f--- you all night long from a memory alone," he says over a slow piano riff.

Reportedly, the R&B singer's new album will drop by the end of the year, which is kind of hard to believe since there's only a little more than a month away, and we haven't seen any promotion for it. But who knows? Ocean may be pulling a Beyonce and will drop the album without warning, which would surely please his fans.
