U.S. Rep. Bradley Byrne said that Alabama is a completely different place than it was in the 1950s and 1960s.

He also said he is not aware of any major race relations in Mobile and that he agrees with President Barack Obama’s assessment that race relations have improved.

He plans to join Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., in Selma to commemorate the 50th anniversary of march in Selma over the Edmund Pettus Bridge.
