Help For More Than 400 Laid Off Jim Walters Miners

A toy drive will be held to benefit the minors laid off from Jim Walter Resources. More than 400 miners have been laid off at Jim Walters Mine #7 in Brookwood.

Toys are being collected in Pleasant Grove, Brookwood and Coaling for families in District 20.

Heather Bosch a Toys for Miners organizer said “I know how hard it is to just come out and ask for help or even take help of its offered to you, so I just wanted to make sure to put it out there to where everybody does not feel uncomfortable with getting help or is ashamed of getting help, I want them to know we’re a family and we’re all in it together and families help each other.”
