Such terrifying news. Yesterday (July 1) a homeless man with a knife reportedly entered ABC Studios in New York City and threatened to kill Michael Strahan.

According to TMZ, 25-year-old Andre Johnson appeared during the broadcast of 'Good Morning America' around 8 AM ET. (Strahan is a co-host on 'Live With Kelly and Michael,' another ABC show.)

Johnson allegedly argued with security, pulling out a serrated knife and threatening to kill Stahan, who often makes 'GMA' appearances. Luckily, TMZ reports someone on the security team obtained the knife and Johnson was restrained.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, when Johnson was questioned, he said, “I was there to kill Michael Strahan."

“It was a scary situation but thanks to the fast actions of NYPD the situation was quickly under control,” an ABC spokesperson told the New York Post, noting that the suspect was "heroically tackled" by the policeman.

A studio source confirmed to Page Six that the former Super Bowl champ wasn't even aware of the incident until later Tuesday afternoon.

We're glad to hear that the co-host is safe and that no one got hurt!
