You bet your last dollar if you ask somebody what does that meat taste like, they will say “it taste like chicken.

My favorite food is chicken! I can eat chicken every day of the week, fried, broiled, boiled, baked, grilled, bar-b-q any way except raw.  I’m talking breakfast, lunch and dinner! I really love chicken that much!

Have you ever wondered how and when the chicken found its way to America? The chicken that we love so much is the hybrid descendant of two Southeast Asian wild jungle fowl species-the red jungle fowl and the grey jungle fowl. The chicken went global with the movement of people.  It’s pretty easy to figure out how they got to Europe and Africa, but how they found their way to the New World is good question.

It was once believed that the Europeans brought domestic chickens to the Americas as they established colonies in the wake of Christopher Columbus’ journey.

The problem with that is the chicken was already here when they arrived. Read more about how chickens found their way to America.
