Hundreds of New Jobs for Tuscaloosa

Great news for those seeking employment in Tuscaloosa County: today, area leaders are expected to announce a project that will bring hundreds of new jobs.

According to our daily, the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority released a notice Wednesday, saying its board of directors will meet at the Mercedes-Benz U.S. International Training Center in Vance, where it will announce a major industrial investment for Tuscaloosa County.  More information will be provided at the meeting.

Since Mercedes-Benz US International began production in Vance, the plant and its suppliers have provided thousands of jobs for West Alabamians and made the area a hot bed for other industries looking to relocate. The fact that this announcement is being made at the MBUSI training center lends to the thought that it's probably auto-related, although this is merely speculation.  Check back for details as they emerge.
