“I Just Don’t Like the Black Kids”: Teacher Says On Camera

One middle school vice principal is in hot water after video is exposed, showing him saying, "I just don't like the black kids."

Joe DiFilippo, Vice Principal of the Scandinavian Middle School in Fresno, California made a HORRIBLE decision when he was asked by other students who he doesn't like.  It could have been a joke, or maybe he was speaking from his heart. He could have been speaking TO black students and being sarcastic.

Whatever the case, DiFilippo made a very common yet unfortunate mistake. You never stoop to the level of a subordinate to discuss other subordinates (if he wasn't speaking to black students); anyone in management knows that. And in the age of technology, you never say anything that can be seen as damaging or discriminatory if you're not prepared to stand by your statement and accept the backlash that comes along.

According to the Huffington Post, DiFilippo has been placed on leave.  Whether or not he meant what he said, he should have been placed on leave anyway just for being dumb.
