I was asked the other day why I thought the presence of gospel is so strong on the radio today. It has always been there.  I can't think of a time when gospel had no presence on urban or black radio.  I remember songs from artist and groups in the 60’s and 70’s like The Staple Singers, The Impressions, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke and the Edwin Hawkins Singers just to name a few. A good song is a good song.  This so called new thing isn’t new at all.  Check out The Staples Singers  “I’ll Take You There”.  Enjoy!
